At BaM Body and Mind Dispensary, we’re all about our medical marijuana patients reaching their optimal state of wellness, and we believe that yoga can be a helpful tool in achieving this. That’s why we’re excited to offer these free classes to our community. Whether you’re a full-blown, head-standing yogi or a curious beginner, our classes are a great way to get some exercise and engage with the community.
Yoga is an ancient practice originating in South Asia that has been shown to provide numerous benefits for both the body and mind. Physically, yoga can help to improve flexibility, strength, and posture. It can also help to reduce stress and pain. Mentally, it can increase clarity of thought, improve concentration, and promote feelings of calmness and serenity.
A typical yoga class will involve a variety of different poses, or asanas. Each pose is designed to stretch and strengthen different muscle groups. In between each pose, there is typically a period of rest, or savasana. This allows the body to recover before moving on to the next pose.
Classes typically end with a brief meditation, during which the instructor will guide students through some deep breathing exercises.
