One such park in Seaside is Soper Park, which is a well-maintained 4.2 acres of space where you can go to enjoy a little break, take a night stroll, or have a picnic.
What to do here?
Soper Park offers you large green fields and ample seating to unwind with your friends and family. But that’s not all. The park is a popular choice for people of all ages, as they offer a variety of recreation options.
The park has two playgrounds, one for infants between 2 and 5 years, and the other for slightly older kids that fall in the 5-12 year age group. While these playgrounds are pretty safe, your kids might need some light supervision when using some of the features, so it’s a good idea to be around if it’s your first time visiting the park.
The older children can enjoy a game on the baseball or softball fields, and adults can lounge at the picnic tables or make use of the barbecue facilities that the park offers.
Although this may not be the largest park in Seaside, it’s extremely clean and well-kept, with plenty of shaded seating for warmer days. Restroom facilities are available at the park as well. If you’re looking for a seaside barbecue experience, this park is your front runner.
What to know before visiting?
If you’re planning a holiday to Seaside, California, you should plan your visit between May and November to enjoy the wonderfully warm summers of California. If Soper Park is on your list of parks to visit here, keep in mind that the park stays closed on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s open 24 hours Monday to Friday, so hopefully you can yet find ample time to visit the park.
However, you have to make reservations in advance to use the baseball/softball fields and the picnic barbecue areas. You can do this by calling on (831) 899-6800.
If you’re a dog parent, you must leave your dog at home while visiting this park because dogs aren’t allowed here.

If you’re visiting Soper Park, make sure to plan either lunch or dinner before or after your park visit. There are a vast variety of restaurants close to the park, offering different cuisines like Japanese, seafood, Italian, and much more.
If you enjoy a good game of golf, you can also stop by the Bayonet & Black Horse golf club, which is a five-minute drive from the park. This hilly golf course is a favorite amongst golf-lovers, woth a splendid view of Monterey Bay from many holes. This golf course is reasonably priced, and the restaurant has a great menu and delicious food.
