Places to see nearby 40 et 8 Club

The 40 et 8 Club provides an excellent destination for a night out with your gang. However, there are also many attractions in the vicinity if you want to explore the local history and outdoor spaces during the day. West Memphis has several parks, museums, and artifacts to provide you with all the fresh air and culture you want. Here are some cool places in Memphis that you can visit:

The Memphis Music Hall of Fame

At the intersection of the famed Beale Street and Second Street in downtown Memphis, you can find the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. It is situated between the renowned Lansky’s clothing store, known for dressing inductees like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rufus Thomas, and others, and the lively new Hard Rock Cafe. It is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm, and tickets are priced at $8 for adults and $6 for youth aged between 5 and 17.

The Memphis Music Hall of Fame’s exhibition offers visitors the chance to learn more about some of the greatest musicians of all time, each of whom was indelibly tied to Memphis’s history and shaped modern music. This exciting exhibition includes never-before-seen artifacts, rare performances and interviews on video, interactive displays, and much more.

Fourth Bluff River Park

The Fourth Bluff River Park is located at North Front Street, Suite 960, Memphis, Tennesse-38103. The Cossitt Library and the University of Memphis School of Law are connected to the park by a bridge along the Promenade. You can explore the park’s walking and jogging pathways, after which you can relax on a bench taking in the views of the Mississippi. Dogs on leashes are allowed to accompany their owners to the park, which is open to visitors every day of the week from sunrise until sunset.

The park provides spaces for outdoor learning, community dinners and dances, private events, concerts, festivals, and more. It also has grounds for sports and exercise. The park’s pavilions and shelters embrace Memphis’s material palette and are inspired by the industrial structures that once stood along the riverside.

W.C. Handy House Museum

William Christopher Handy, now known as the “Father of the Blues,” relocated from Alabama to Memphis in 1909 after traveling through the region. He then settled down in a two-room shotgun house on Jeanette Place in South Memphis. The house was relocated to Beale Street in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, in the middle of the 1980s, when Heritage Tours refurbished it and converted it into an informative center.

A desk where W.C. Handy created several of his best-known tunes, including “The Memphis Blues,” “St. Louis Blues,” and “Beale Street Blues,” can be found at the W.C. Handy Home and Museum. The place also houses various photos, memorabilia, and artifacts related to Handy’s life and legacy. The W.C. Handy House Museum is a must visit spot for history buffs and Blues fans.
